WHEREAS community organizations and non-profit organizations are an essential pillar of Québec’s social safety net and contribute directly to the well-being of individuals and communities across the province;

WHEREAS these organizations support, on a daily basis, populations in situations of vulnerability, including youth, families, people experiencing mental health challenges, individuals facing poverty or homelessness, immigrants, people from racialized or marginalized communities, persons with disabilities, women who are victims of violence, as well as Indigenous communities, among others;

WHEREAS current government funding is characterized by significant unpredictability, lengthy delays, complex processes, and a lack of transparency;

WHEREAS this financial instability directly jeopardizes access to essential services;

WHEREAS the scarcity of financial resources leads to unintended competition among organizations;

WHEREAS simple, transparent, and stable funding processes would allow organizations to fully focus on their mission;

We, the undersigned, call on the Government of Québec:

To implement more stable, predictable, and multi-year funding mechanisms;
To simplify funding processes and make them more transparent;
To fully recognize organizations as essential partners and allies;
To promptly hold a meeting with the stakeholders concerned and the ministers responsible in order to identify concrete and sustainable solutions aimed at strengthening the resilience of organizations.
